Arsenal's Dream run

It was another action packed night in the English Premier League which saw Arsenal moving six points clear of Manchester United while Chelsea gained second spot by defeating West Ham. Arsenal continued their dream run in the premiership with another win against Aston Villa 2-1. Craig Gardner gave provided the lead for the home side in the 13th minute but then Arsenal struck twice before half time. The Gunners had been a joy to watch in the opening 45 minutes with some delightful free-flowing football which often had Villa chasing shadows. They stepped up a gear from the minute Villa went ahead and their one-touch play caused the home side constant problems. Adebayor's flick played in Emmanuel Eboue whose low cross took a deflection off Hleb to tee it up perfectly for Flamini whose well-struck shot flew past the opposition goal keeper Carson. Adebeyor then shot the match winning second goal ten minutes before the half time whistle. Joe cole scored the only goal of the match in the Chelsea's 1-0 win against the Hammers. Manchester United have a tough task ahead tonight. They must win to secure atleast the second spot in the league standings. Lets wait and watch.

Champions league results

Couple of weeks ago Arsenal managed to record the biggest Champions league victory by beating Slavia Prague 7-0 but now the record is eclipsed by "Red Hot" Liverpool. They won 8-0 in Anfield against a ten men Besiktas. The Reds show no stage fright whatsoever in a must win match as led by Benayoun's hat-trick. By winning this match Liverpool has kept their hopes of making it into the knock-out stages.
In some other match AC Milan's Fillipo Inzhagi equaled the record of Gerd Muller for scoring 62 goals in the Champions league as he managed a brace in 3-0 win over Shakthar. FC porto edged past Marselle 2-1 and Celtic downed Benefica 1-0 with the help of a goal scored by McGeady. Valencia were shocked by Rosenburg in a 2-0 home defeat.
Chelsea were held to a 0-0 draw by Schalke. Madrid suffered the same fate as that of Chelsea at the hands of Olympiakos. Madrid were unlucky as they missed several easy chances and a shot of Ruud hit the post. Other results include Lazio beating Weder Bremen 2-1.
