It was Monday night action from EPL which involved Manchester United and Fulham. Manchester United was in a must win situation to hold on to the second spot. The final result was a 2-0 victory for the host, though they had plenty of opportunities to extend their lead. It just 4th minutes in the clock when Tevez's shot went just wide of the far post. But in the 7th minute corner Cristiano Ronaldo made full use of the defensive blunder. Fulham's defense failed to clear the ball from Ryan Giggs' corner that went to Ronaldo who just sublimely sent it to the back of the net. The remaining minutes of the first half belonged to Manchester United, as Fulham failed to capitalize on the through balls and openings in United's defense. Fulham managed only once to stretch Van der Saar with a shot from Kuqi. But the rest of Fulham's shots were well wide of the mark. So Man U entered the break with a 1-0 advantage.

Manchester United attacked through out the second half. They forced the opponent goal keeper to make several stupendous saves. Many off-side decisions went against Man U but they missed a clear one-on-one opportunity when Saha's through ball found Tevez clear of the defense. He only managed to force another good save from the goalie. Finally it was Ronaldo again to score the second and final goal of the match by heading a superb cross from corner. The goal gave some leeway and boosted them to attack more. Fulham failed make an impact in the second half and never recovered from their 2-0 deficit.
